BitTorrent & PC-Cillin 2002

I'm using TheShadow's Experimental BitTorrent client
(BitTorrent-experimental-S-5.8.7-w32install.exe). I was getting a massive
number of *connection refused* messages on some torrents until I stopped my
anti-virus software from running (PC-Cillin 2002). I want the firewall in
PC-Cillin running, but don't want it to hinder BitTorrent performance. Can
anyone advise me which ports BitTorrent uses, and whether it is safe to
adjust PC-Cillin? (and how I would go about that).
