I has been using AVG 6.0 Anti-virus, yet it is about to expire and
support will be ceased soon, could anyone recommend some good free
auti-virus for my home use ? Many Thanks in advance

John,

I use Nod32 (www.nod32.com) on several of my systems. I like it because
it's extremely fast and has a small footprint. However, a year ago, I
installed Protector Plus ($25-$30 I believe) on one of my machines to
wipe out a boot sector virus that caused Nod32 to crash. I still like
Nod32 though, because of excellent reviews. I've also used F-Prot for
DOS, which I think is still free.

I upgraded to the new free 7.0 version of avg and like it but i also
have a couple of issues with the email plugin that i will post about
separately. as far as straight up virus scanning its still good, free,
and with frequent updates!

Freedom AV program - I work for a small software company and couple of our users contacted me yesterday saying that Freedom (Zero Knowledge) has identified a virus W32/GltrojA on the file downloaded from our server. I've done two scans with NAV and Panda online scanner..
