I have heard that Symantecs "professional" line of anti-virus is much
better than normal Norton antivirus. It is said to be lean and mean,
using little resources and just doing it's job in the background
without any extrar blows and whistles. I have not had a change to try
it. Does anybody have any experience?

Of course in network installations it is better because it is palnned
for remote administration etc.

Dear Jari,

You have heard right, I just installed the new client version
9.0.0.338 and is just a great program. Light on recources,
auto-update, e-mail scan (new), threat tracer (works great)! I have
seen a lot of AV scanners, but this is a top program. Good luck!

greetings,

Allright

Yes. The product is geared toward protecting workstations and network
shares. There is no "script checking", "spam filtering", "spyware
detection", "POP3 email scanning". I've found no problems what-so-ever
with any of the installations at my workplace, due to conflicts with
other software, provided no other AV has been installed on access.

We push the updates to each workstation as they are released by Symantec
for Intelligent Updating. It's also impossible to have a machine on our
network that isn't protected by Symantec AV. The installation is pushed
to the machine, regardless of efforts to remove it Smile.

Enough already! Smile. I just passed the product spec fact sheet on to my
IT Manager. Maybe we can get a copy to test at my site Smile.

Thanks, I was wondering if this would be the right solution for the
company I work in. We are currently using the normal Norton
AV-versions.
