Have just downloaded the above software after it was recommended in computer
active and was just wondering if anyone could tell me from personal
experience if its any good?

It picked up a virus I had straight away but said it couldn't delete it so I
had to delete it manually from my temp internet files. A message flashed up
again later saying there was an virus amongst my backup files (in a system
restore folder) but when I virus scanned again nothing came up.

I take it the program scans files 'Live' as I'm using them?

Definitely, I've bought AVG7, and it's awesome.

Could be limited to your admin privledges. Just turn off system restore
in your options, reboot, then turn it back on.

Yep!

Seems ok except every now and again a box pops up saying:

AVG Resident Shield
Virus Trojan Horse Downloader .Dyfica.T

is found in file
C:\System Volume
Information\_restore{3AB536B4-6F55-4DBC-A477-D36FCBBB19AD}\RP219\A0043309.ex
e

To remove this virus run AVG for windows

....Now I have run AVG and its picked up nothing and I havent even got a
C:\System Volume Information folder (even with 'Show all files' in folder
options)and when I do a file search for A0043309.exe it picks up nothing.

This is quite worrying as it's the second time this has happened in about a
week. I'm obviously concerned if I've got a virus I cant get rid of.

Zonealarm has constantly been running so am I still safe for now?, I've been
careful about the programs Ive give access through it.
to.

that's because the location mentioned is in your system restore... you
can access it normally because windows goes to a lot of trouble to make
it inaccessible... to get the malware out of there you will have to
purge your restore points... turn system restore off and reboot... then
turn system retore back on and reboot...
