I just renewed my Symantec antivirus software. The original
subscription was up in July so I thought I would renew early just in
case I forgot. However, the confirmation of my purchase indicated that
my "renewal date" was June 5th and that I would have to renew again on
June 5, 2007.

It looks like I lost a month by renewing early. Has this happened to
anyone else?

Sadly this is a quite common occurrence. In fact I've done this myself
some years ago. I've since dropped Norton. There are many reasons to
consider a different AV program. Jumping through hoops to renew the
subscription is just one of them.
