Can anyone comment on this AV software? One of my preferred suppliers has
recommended it and at a good price. If I go with it I will be using it on
client machines and on an SBS 2000 server with exchange. What's it like at
blocking virus emails on exchange?

Any comments appreciated as I would not buy it without recommendations.

Thanks,
Ric.

I've been using it for a couple of weeks now (as a home user) and think
it is a good package. You can opt to scan only part of your system (even
down to just the emails) or a full scan, and updates the anti-virus
daily.

It detects the virus and neutralises them, my previous experience with
PC-Cillin, AVG and Norton was that they didn't do what they claimed to
do. So far I am happy with the product and would recommend it.

I did notice that there was a site that had the home package for sale at
$6.99, unfortunately this was a couple of days after I'd paid £15.00 for
it..

Unfortunately I don't know how it performs on exchange.

For my home computer (xp pro) I use Panda Platinum, and I think it's great.
It updates daily by itself, scans the computer at night even if I log off,
and has a firewall. I didn't have to do much adjusting, just install and let
the firewall learn about the programs I use.

We've been using it with SBS 2000 for a couple of months.

So far so good; when installing it found a virus on a laptop that had
been running NAV.

Since then, we get daily updates and all is well. It doesn't seem to
cause the same performance hit as NAV did.

I didn't do the install, so I can't comment on how it went.

Two negatives, but not enough to turn me off it.

i) the interface is a bit quirky. Some things weren't where I felt
they should have been to be feel like other Windows programs, so I had
to poke around to perform certain tasks.

ii) we aren't using the proxy server, but Panda insisted on setting IE
on the desktops to use the proxy server when installing. The result
was IE didn't work until we ran around and turned everyone off, which
was a pain. I haven't figured out how to turn that option off.

I've been using it for about a week now on a stand-alone XPHome setup.
It continually finds W32/Gibe.c.worm and Exploit/Frame in incoming
e-mails which AVG Pro 7 and AntiVir failed to do at all. Thus far, I'm
very pleased with it.
