mIRC 6.03, AVG updated last night and now detects mIRC (and a backup copy) as
Backdoor.Generic3.EPD.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm pretty sure it *isn't* infected.

My computer runs at 3.5MHz and I'm proud of that

that's the most likely explaination."

I know this isn't helpful to your question, but you really should make sure
mIRC is updated - it's a popular program for people to exploit, and on IRC
it's easy to do so. 6.2 has been released recently, and from 6.03 it fixes
quite a few nasty vulnerabilities. http://www.mirc.com/

If it still detects mIRC 6.2 then it is likely to be a false positive - try
submitting it to http://www.virustotal.com/

Hmm. I've upgraded, and the problem has gone away.

Only to be replaced with an invalid licence problem! Oh well Smile

I stuck with 6.03 as 6.05 (IIRC) and a later version I tried (6.1?) don't
operate some of my written scripts for some reason. I'll try 6.2 and see.

I'm happy with 6.03, bugs and all, and prefer not to change stuff if I can.

I was just wondering if anyone else has this combination of software. Thanks
though.
