Archived from groups: alt>comp>anti-virus (more info?)

hi. i'm running avg antivirus 7.1 on my winxp machine. can anybody tell me
which of the services related to avg can be disabled without harming its
actual functions? it runs about five services in the background and i can't
believe they are all necessary.

in the services applet there is "avg update service" and "avg alert manager
server." in the registry it automatically starts "avg7_cc," "avg7_emc" and
"avg7_regcleaner."

any users of the full avg out there who know the answers? Wink

TIA
