Thanks, though it directs me to < http://free.avg.com/download >
(to download the installer for AVG Ver 8.0.)
Will fire up the Win98 box and give it a go.

Thanks again, (from the Win98 box).
I baulked at the Ver 8.0 installer, in case it auto removed 7.5 and buggered
up a ver 8.0 install.

I found that I had saved the original Ver 7.5 installer from 2006 and used
that.
Selecting "uninstall" worked OK.

hi , go to control pannel and then select add or remove program and then select avg antivirus 7.5 and then remove it will be permanently removed.
