Post subject: AVG 8.0 UPDATE FAILURE ON MY LAPTOP

Hello everyone,
Ive been fixing my AVG automatic update for a couple of weeks now & still dont know what to do.Everytime i turn on my Avg automatic update it always says "update fails" so what i did is i subscribed to AVG Anti virus update w/c sends me updates on my email from time to time. Now as i clicked the the link (e.g. update file for all virus database),my internet explorer opens and a blank page is posted,no download done.
I found out just yesterday doing exactly that thing on my office pc, i succesfully saved/downloaded all the updated files in .bin on my usb and thats the time i finally updated my avg at home by manual update.
Now my question is why i can download the update file in my pc at office and why not in my laptop at home?is there something i need to configure on my internet explorer at home so automatic update can be done?if so,kindly tell me the procedure.thanks in advance.
