server.

I unintalled August 31 after several efforts to make the update
function work. On Friday evening I reinstalled AVS. It works perfectly.
I did not change any config files. I just reinstalled from my saved
install program and added the registration number. No change what so
ever was made to the HOSTS file. About 3 mb. of updates and program
update were downloaded after the installation.
