Are there any drawbavks to purchasing a 2004 version of Norton or McAfee that's
"on sale" vs a 2005 version? Wouldn't the 04 just update?

I have McAfee ver 6 suite (the sub is active thru next February) and the anti-virus module hasn't been able to update for the past five weeks (some kind of script error) and the tips on their forum have provided no relief to me and countless others who are posting. Which is precisely why I'm lurking here to see what else is out there.
