Where can I get F-Prot for DOS version 3.14c? The current version 3.14e
has a problem that won't allow a scan to completion, as has been
discussed here. I've been watching the F-Prot site to see if they will
issue a fixed version, but none has appeared yet. The don't seem to
archive older versions. Are they hidden someplace? Has anyone heard
that they are aware of the problem and planning on addressing it?

I haven't been able to find it either......and I had the same problem with
the new one. It is not on the Old Versions website. Hopefully (fingers
crossed), they will put it up on the F-Prot website......until then I am not
using it.

3.14c worked OK for me. What made it worse than b?

Know where I can get it? I usually back up my previous installation
when I upgrade, but I was careless this time.

I emailed Frisk with these questions, but they haven't answered me yet.

Never seen 3.14c - they seemed to go directly from 3.14b thru to 3.14e
within a day or so. Smells like fast development under the duress of
circumstance (something that av vendors are always subject to). So
while I've pulled down 3.14e, I've kept the old version too.

Just a heads up......and bear with me because I had a nasty tooth extraction
this morning and I hurt!! 8-(((

I had written F-Prot asking for the non-existant 3.14c and they sent me a
copy of 3.14d.......does that one cause the same problems as the "e" one???
I did get 3.14b from a kind soul here, but thought I would let you know I
have the "D" one in case anyone wants it......but not sure if it didn't act
up like the "E" one.

Hope I am making sense.......the pain killers have muddled my brain!!

That's what I was thinking, if we're talking about the DOS version. I've got
at least a dozen backups of various kinds approx. equally divided between
3.14b and 3.14e. IIRC folk were wondering if F-Prot for DOS would ever be
updated again - and for a while it wasn't while the Win version was (twice,
it would seem).

They must have gone through versions so quickly 3.14d fell between backups
here.

I've had half a tooth missing for about 6 months now. It's the pain in the
wallet that frightens me though. When I was a kid my dentist told me I was
too young for benzocaine, so I went through childhood getting my teeth
drilled without pain relief. I wonder now if my dentist was the inspiration
for the one in Little Shop of Horrors.

I believe so. Having said that, I haven't had a problem on win98se or
winxp home with any version of f-prot. v3.14e is currently working
fine here.

Thanks Jim and all......

Got another copy of 3.14b thanks to Ozzy and will stay with that. I
appreciate your views on the "d" one.....I thought I saw someone say it
caused the same problems as "e".

Cheers......Heather

Might have been payback for refusing gas - I could have had gas. I remember
knocking the mask off the hose, gas streaming into the room and the dentist
and his nurse scrambling about trying to get it back on. I didn't win that
time, but I never had gas again. Plenty of pain, but no gas.
